Flotilla Sailing Croatia

Flotilla Holidays Croatia

An Island Sailing flotilla in Croatia allows you to explore one of the most exciting and beautiful sailing areas in a warm Mediterranean climate.

Our flotillas consist of a group of the latest model and brand new yachts and catamarans exploring the Dalmatian islands and coastline at their own pace with the support of a lead boat and professional and helpful crew.

Flotilla sailing is a great way to discover the rich contracts of history, culture and cosmopolitan style with plenty of time for fun and relaxation.

Island Sailing's Croatia flotillas

Your experienced and friendly flotilla skipper and crew provide professional support and a personal service throughout the week. They give a daily briefing and chat about the cruising plans for the day and with lots of local knowledge they can give you plenty of tips and advice.

Set sail at your leisure and explore each day at your own pace. Stay in a different port each evening, stopping en route in a small bay or pretty village for lunch and a swim and snorkel.

By keeping to a smaller number of yachts this allows us to visit all of the best places including some of the smaller and most picturesque ports and bays. You sail independently meeting up with the other yachts at the end of the day at each destination.

Our flotillas run throughout the summer months. The Island Sailing lead crew are at the chosen destination each day to make sure that you moor up safely for the night. The evenings are your own to relax and enjoy the company of others in your flotilla or to spend time with your family or friends.

Our lead crew can make dinner reservations or make suggestions and recommendations for the nicest places to relax, explore and enjoy dinner and drinks.

Our summer flotillas are a social hub where children can meet up, play on the beach or in a picturesque harbour town and parents can unwind and share their days' adventures. In the evenings your flotilla crew will recommend great places to dine with the other yachts or special places to eat as a family.

Enjoy the local hospitality as well as support from our flotilla crew who will help you to discover the very best places the Dalmatian coastline has to offer. Your lead crew will recommend the best bays and anchorages and special places to eat, drink and relax.

Our flotillas in Croatia run in July and August.

Flotilla Itineraries

Our flotilla starts from the modern marina base at Trogir at the very heart of central Dalmatia. Ideally located just 20 minutes’ transfer from Split airport it's a perfect starting point for exploring the stunning Adriatic coast.  The heart of the historic city of Trogir, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is on a small island with stunning Venetian architecture.

Our specially chosen itineraries visit the best bays, beautiful towns, marinas and ports sailing to a different destination each day. Here are some examples of the places our flotilla visits in an average week.

We check the weather forecast at the start of each week before setting the exact itinerary so we can choose the best sailing route based on what the wind is doing.

Dalmatian Coast & Islands

The stunning Dalmatian coastline offers turquoise waters, a warm climate and fresh breezes and a perfect balance of ancient and modern. Explore peaceful and unspoilt islands, and an array of beaches and tranquil moorings perfect for swimming and snorkelling. Rich in history and culture, UNESCO World Heritage sites galore, fantastic food and wine and friendly and welcoming locals Croatia is perfect for a fun, relaxed and varied sailing holiday.

The incredible coastline and 1000 or more islands offers calm, clear waters and stunning scenery. Calm and peaceful mornings give way to exciting afternoon breezes for fun sailing for everyone to enjoy. Line of sight navigation and a mixture of short island hops and longer periods of open water sailing provide ideal conditions for sailors of all abilities.

In Croatia you will generally pay to moor each night in a marina, harbour or sometimes on a mooring buoy. There are also some bays where you can moor for free and take your dinghy ashore. We cover the cost of mooring fees at our first class marina yacht bases at the start and end of your charter and for the rest of your holiday mooring fees depend on the size of the yacht and location, but as a guide, marinas will cost around £1.50 per foot per night, town quays and mooring buoys will cost around £1.00 per foot per night.

The benefit is a guaranteed mooring space with power and water which you can book in advance. You will also have the assistance of friendly and well organised marina staff and port authorities to help you moor up and advise you about all the great facilities available.

Flotilla Sailing Yachts

We only offer the latest models and brand new yachts ranging in size from 34 feet with 3 cabins to 56 feet with 6 cabins with extremely high specifications. We also have new catamaran yachts from 39 to 45 feet which offer extra space and luxury.

Experience & Qualificatons

Croatian Maritime Law requires you to have a sailing license issued by the state authority of the country that you are coming from. A VHF radio license is also required. For the UK this is usually the ICC (International certificate of Competence) or RYA Day Skipper Practical (or higher), or a similar qualification from other countries.

With previous experience sailing on a similar size yacht the skipper should be assisted by at least one competent member of crew over 18 years of age.
