Discover a yacht charter paradise on the Amalfi Coast
The Amalfi Coast and neighbouring islands are some of Italy’s most striking destinations – it’s no surprise that Unesco, the World Heritage Centre, has labelled the Amalfi Coast as an outstanding example of a Mediterranean landscape. A yacht charter is simply the only way to do the Amalfi Coast justice as you meander to the stunning coastal towns of Ravello, Sorrento, Positano and Amalfi and hop between the three island jewels in the Bay of Naples Ischia, Procida and Capri. Capri is chic and stunning, Procida is an idyllic escape, Ischia offers the best beaches. Further afield lie the six tiny, yet beautiful Pontine Islands, a pretty archipelago off the Italian coast between Naples and Rome, are an exclusive national park with transparent waters, and gracious little ports make these ‘fishermen’s isles’ an attainable Mediterranean dream.
“If bliss could be a colour, today would be Amalfi Blue.”
Overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, with its subtropical Mediterranean climate, the Amalfi Coast extends in the Gulf of Salerno and includes some of its most famous places, Positano, Sorrento, Ravello and Amalfi herself. Awesome views, dramatic landscapes, sparkling clear waters, pastel coloured fishing villages, vineyards and lemon groves and some of the most spectacular hilltop views. Visit Positano and its vertiginous multi-coloured houses cascading down to the sea front. Explore steep narrow streets lined with buzzing cafes and boutique shopping. Discover iconic Byzantine domes and sample some of the Amalfi coast’s world-class food, limoncello, iconic nightlife and unforgettable evenings.
A pretty archipelago off the Italian coast between Naples and Rome the Pontine islands are a perfect getaway to an island paradise. The two main inhabited islands are Ponza and Ventotone. Smaller Palmarola, is a little craggy gem, a beautiful nature reserve with tranquil summer anchorages. Ponza is one of the few real hidden gems, the perfect mix between slow and chic: unspoiled nature, crystal clear waters, excellent food, stunning views, and a fishermen’s island that is still authentic and true to its character. Ponza has an upscale feel with impressive yachts dropping anchor around the island, but retains it’s casual and relaxed style, a place where you can enjoy peace and a warm welcome surrounded by naural beauty and charm. The small Island of Ventotene between the bigger islands of Ischia and Ponza is a perfect place to escape and unwind on a pretty utterly relaxing and authentic island.
Capri, renowned the world over as the island of luxury and exclusivity is famous as much for its great scenery as it is for boutiques and fine restaurants. Explore deserted anchorages and coves, sail by towering limestone rocks that soar out above the blue sea and when the day visitors have left, take in the stunning views and enjoy the island in all its splendour. Ischia is the largest of the islands in the Bay of Naples, with a lovely coastline of colourful villages and the dramatic Aragonese Castle perched on a volcanic rock. Ischia has some of the best café bars, prettiest thermal spas, lazy beaches and cosy harbours. Procida is the smallest island of the three and also the best-kept secret. Stunningly beautiful and utterly charming you will fall in love with its laid-back charm and lemon groves and enjoy the vibrant old port of Marina Corricella.
